Want to have a 'startup entreprenur' expereince while still studying ?

We are inviting interns to participate in working on some exciting new projects at eFarm.(By exciting, we don't mean taking a thousand photo copies or getting chai for the boss ;-) )

The internships are crafted in such a way so that one can choose  to work on a specific area of choice, and take the project through completion till the go live stage during the internship period itself. .

 

Disciplines and Open positions

The internships are across a wide variety of disciplines. Also each project would be comprised of multi-disciplinary team members. The following are indicative of the number of positions open at this point :

Buyers Guide A buyers perspective of how to select, identify and pick a produce. Also the health benefits of such items. Food science, Food technology
Food processing Design and implement a pilot food processing unit for making small agro-based products, pre-cuts, packaged items Food science, Food technology, Catering & Hotel management
Waste reduction and composting Implement innovative techniques in reducing waste, convert/re-use waste in a sustainable manner Agriculture, Waste management, Bio technology
Technology Build the efarm backend platform for trading, Portal development, MIS, Collaboration amongst the user community Software development (Portals, XML), Mobile development (SMS gateways)
Training and Mentoring Prepare simple training material in local language for our farmers, lorry drivers and small retailers. Paper , multimedia formats and innovative ideas welcome. Social science, Training, Visual communication, HR
Fund raising Identify and attract investment from various sources - government, NRIs, philanthropists, social VCs/Angels Finance , Investment management, Accountancy

Internship Criteria

  1. The internships are typically for a 6 to 8 weeks duration
  2. The internship positions are rolling positions all through the year .
  3. Expect around 50% of your time to be spent on travel / field work / end user interactions.
  4. Male candidates can be provided free accomodation at our Porur godown . It will be basic dorm type facility .
  5. Outstation candidates need to make their own travel arrangements and commute to office. We recommend staying close to work place . Any official travel would be borne by the company.
  6. At the end of the internship period, we would be presenting a work experience certificate 
  7. There is no pay/stipend during the internship period. We feel the experience you gain would be an adequate compensation in itself !
  8. We also offer pre-placement offers and entrepreneurship oppurtunities for interested candidates upon completion of their internship period.
